Why would I give the Canadian government money?

Royal Canadian Mounted Police

All smiles when you get into Canada

No one likes paying taxes or fees to the government. And as potential immigrants to Canada there can be quite a lot of money disappearing out of your pocket.

Most people going to Canada are doing so under the Skilled Worker program – with a few lucky ones on the fast track Provincial Nominee Programs. However there is another option that might help a few people – if they are willing to give the Canadian Government money.

The investor program is one that will get you into Canada within around 16-18 months. But you will have to give the government $120,000

Even if you could do that, why would you?

Well consider the problems that face people coming in under the other programs. They need to have enough points to qualify. Getting enough points may just not be possible or reasonable.

For instance these are a few of the things that might go against you:

-          Your age (older you get the wiser, but the fewer points)

-          Your education (certificates are what counts not learning on the job or from experience)

-          Language (can’t speak English or French proper – no worries mate)

-          Job prospects (no one willing to employ you)

With the Investor Program you can ignore all of these factors. The government will turn a blind eye to them while they are counting your, soon to be their, money.

So if you really want to get into Canada and have the necessary money (which includes a net worth of $800,000) then the Investor Program is well worth considering.
