Home at the range

Those of you who have been paying attention will know that Sue is away in the UK for this weekend’s Emigrate show at Sandown. This leaves me back here in Vancouver. One of the challenges of being a single parent and holding down a job is the cooking.

What with one thing and another I have been out around dinner time. I don’t mean Canadian dinner time, which seems absurdly early to me, but at 7pm or later. Nature of the job as a realtor – you have to meet clients after they have finished work and then deal with offers or show them places.

It has been good to find that one of my beautiful and talented children (actually young adults) has cooked something and there is some left for me to eat. Mostly it has been pasta with sauce from a jar, but welcome for all that.

Actually it may be that the lack of variety in the menu is my fault on two counts. Firstly I have not passed on my widely admired cooking skills onto my children. And secondly as our listing is close to the downtown Costco, so I have been bulk buying pasta and sauce.

What is going to happen when we’ve sold the apartment? Either I will have to start the cooking lessons or get another listing nearby.
